[Preparation Day] Making Cookies Before Shabbat
For those who guard the Sabbath.....
SHABBAT SHALOM!
Today has been a busy day getting ready for the Holy day. My daughter requested cookies with too many chocolate chips and "Bible Toons" tonight. So daddy got out the ingredient for some yummy cookies.
“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. Exodus 20:8-11
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:17-19
“‘Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter or your male servant or your female servant, or your ox or your donkey or any of your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates, that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you. You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day. Deuteronomy 5:12-15
Bless the Most High!
Shabbat Shalom! It's always so encouraging seeing families resting and renewing. Our family began 3 years ago and we have had nothing but blessings come from it. Thank you for this post. It is special.
Shabbat is a delight! It is a very special blessing to stop and rest for a day. Thanks for stopping by! @ironshield
Well if daddy make them then they will be better than bought ones ;-)
I always felt that with my mother home made cookies, cakes and all.
They were better than almost anything else and always waiting for the time to come and eat. Also i loved to help her to make them.
Nice... ;-)
Cheers

Shalom from above! @ironshield
The best cookies ever are the ones you bake with your Dad! Mom's do other stuff, but Dad's do cookies.
We had a lot of fun making these. @ironshield
