You know, it is so interesting this entire passage, when you read it without the verse numbers, it becomes like a story; and every single issue tackles the selfishness of the man's heart.

• selfish to have his / her happiness (about the issues of divorce)
• selfish by not sharing (disciples not allowing the kids to come to the Lord)
• selfish by possession (the rich kid that could not let go of his possession)
• selfish by pride, thinking he / she can make it without God
• selfish by ranks, either one thinks they are in a "certain privileged pack" (exclusivism), and need to be ahead of everyone else

And each topic Jesus addressed them promptly.
If we can learn to see less of our pride and self-righteous, maybe our Aba Father will have less headache on us.

But blessed be! Even though we all fall short (with all the points above) from the glory of God, our Aba Father never cease to try to reach out to us to transform us to our original design!
