WHAT IT MEANS TO BE SUBMISSIVE
“WOE TO HIM WHO STRIVES WITH HIS MAKER! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth! Shall the clay say to him who form it, ‘WHAT ARE YOU MAKING?’ OR SHALL YOUR HANDIWORK SAY, ‘HE HAS NO HANDS'?"
Isaiah 45:9 (NKJV)
God will always deal with whoever is stubborn or tough to bend. If it seems God is severe with you, that may suggest you are too rigid; you always want to have your ways.
And If you are rigid, you are not easy to bend, you will always suffer; you cannot argue with your maker (Isaiah 45:9).
God will continue to break you, humble you, until you agree with His will and counsel. Being rigid and stubborn will make you suffer unnecessarily. God wants submission and cooperation from whoever claim to be His (2 Timothy 2:19).
If God had a plan to use you, Before He does that, use you; He would want to break you and mould you to suit His purpose. The level of your brokenness and yieldableness determines the measure of the anointing He bestows on you, or the wealth He committed into your hands if you are to be a financier of His work.
Trying to make efforts to prove that you are wise in God’s sight makes you suffer unnecessarily. God would want to prove to the wise that they are nothing:
19 FOR IT IS WRITTEN: “I WILL DESTROY THE WISDOM OF THE WISE, AND BRING TO NOTHING THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE PRUDENT.” 20 WHERE IS THE WISE? WHERE IS THE SCRIBE? WHERE IS THE DISPUTER [debater] OF THIS AGE? HAS NOT GOD MADE FOOLISH THE WISDOM OF THIS WORLD?” (1 Corinthians 1:19,20 NKJV)
God will prove to whoever wants to show that he is wise that he is a fool.
The wise are the ones who acknowledge God, those who humble themselves before Him to receive His counsel and do His bidding:
23 THUS SAYS THE LORD: “LET NOT THE WISE MAN GLORY IN HIS WISDOM, LET NOT THE MIGHTY MAN GLORY IN HIS MIGHT, NOR LET THE RICH MAN GLORY IN HIS RICHES; 24 BUT LET HIM WHO GLORIES GLORY IN THIS, THAT HE UNDERSTANDS AND KNOWS ME, THAT I AM THE LORD, EXERCISING LOVING-KINDNESS, JUDGMENT, AND RIGHTEOUSNESS IN THE EARTH. FOR IN THESE I DELIGHT,” SAYS THE LORD" (Jeremiah 9:23,24 NKJV).
Nobody is wise except God. Nobody is strong except God. The only wise and strong is God.Those who are wise are the ones God made wise!
Nobody is wise on his own, only those whom God made wise: “WHO HAS PUT WISDOM IN THE MIND? OR WHO HAS GIVEN UNDERSTANDING TO THE HEART?" (Job 38:36 (NKJV) Of course the answers to the questions in this Bible passage is God!
13 THE WINGS OF THE OSTRICH WAVE PROUDLY, but are her wings and pinions like the kindly stork’s?
14 For she leaves her eggs on the ground, and warms them in the dust;
15 She forgets that a foot may crush them, or that a wild beast may break them.
16 She treats her young harshly, as though they were not hers; her labor is in vain, without concern,
17 BECAUSE GOD DEPRIVED HER OF WISDOM, AND DID NOT ENDOW HER WITH UNDERSTANDING.”
Job 39:13-17 (NKJV)
Wisdom belongs to God as ealier said; thus, If you want to be wise, submit to Him, whom He makes wise is the wise:
“WITH HIM ARE WISDOM AND STRENGTH, HE HAS COUNSEL AND UNDERSTANDING" ( Job 12:13 NKJV).
READ: Job 12:13-25
If you have been having challenges, or you are being opposed in your endeavours; you always have resistance in fulfilling your plans, It could be that you are full of your opinions, you always do not acknowledge God in all your doings (Proverbs 3:5,6).
You may think God hates you, but He does not. He loves you, only that you are rigid, full of your own opinions; you are not ready to embrace His plan and will, that is the reason why you have been having resistance and opposition. What you are exhibiting is a trait or characteristic of pride and God has zero tolerance for pride: “BUT HE GIVES MORE GRACE. THEREFORE HE SAYS: “GOD RESISTS THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE" (James 4:6 NKJV).
Note:
• No one fights with God and succeed, because He is a Man of War, Jehovah is His name (Exodus 15:3)!
• No one battles with Him and win.
• No one argues with Him and prevail.
Admonition
• Cooperate with Him in the plan which God has for you; in your marriage, business, career, and every department of your life. Secret of success and greatness in God is submission.
• Your submissiveness should be absolute—total. Remember, you may be submissive in one area of your life, whilst you are not in some other areas. It must be all round, that is, complete submissiveness!
• God wants to have control in every area of your life: marriage, business, career, academic if you are still schooling, and whatever; in fact, in all your endeavours.
• Know that If you are God's, He will not rest until He has total control over your life, except you are not His.
The truth is, God is not satisfied with partial affection, He wants your attention totally for Him. God wants to have His say-so in every matter of yours!
Wisdom demands that you allow Him!
Peace!
