RELATING AND FELLOWSHIPPING WITH GOD
"THOU ART WORTHY, O LORD, to receive glory and honour and power: FOR THOU HAST CREATED ALL THINGS, AND FOR THY PLEASURE THEY ARE AND WERE CREATED."
Revelation 4:11 (KJV)
“YOU ARE WORTHY, O LORD OUR GOD, to receive glory and honor and power. FOR YOU CREATED ALL THINGS, AND THEY EXIST BECAUSE YOU CREATED WHAT YOU PLEASED.”
Revelation 4:11 (NLT)
• The most important aspect of Christianity is the fellowshipping with God, because we are existing for God's pleasure and created for that.
- Attending church meetings and other believer's meetings are good but your personal walking with God is of utmost importance.
- After you have left the gathering of the people of God, the church meeting, How do you live your life?
- Some believers could not pray or study the Bible alone except when they find themselves in the gathering of believers. They are always bored with the things of the Spirit whenever they are alone.
- Their prayer life is zero! In studying of the Bible, the Word of God, some could not; whenever they wanted to do, they struggle with dozing. The spiritual healthiness of a good number of believers is nothing to write home about.
• You might be a worker, a lay-leader in your local church, or whatever; your spiritual health is of utmost importance than whatever you are doing for God in your local church.
- A number of those who claimed to be working for God are empty inside—their spiritual life is meaningless.
- What you are in God precedes whatever you are doing for Him. Being precedes doing. Whatever you will do for God, or be in Him, starts with what you are in Him. Your communion with God sets the pace for every other thing in your life as a believer in Christ.
- If the Joy of fellowshipping with God is lost, you have the feeling of emptiness in your life. You may result in making efforts to get the Joy through the things of the world which you may never get.
- The Joy and sense of fulfilment gotten in a good relationship and fellowshipping with God cannot be gotten through any other thing. Nothing in the world can take the place of the Joy of good communion or fellowship with God.
• Some believers say they cannot pray alone, they cannot be alone without having people around them.
- Such people do not know what It means to personally converse with God. That is the reason why they always want to be where people gather and where they are having fun—where they just sit around, grooving on the music. Taking a great pleasure or satisfaction; enjoying themselves.
- But such a thing or activity is considered a frivolity, because it has no any spiritual value or edification. That is the reason why some so-called believers prefer to attend a social gathering or party than to attend a church or a believer's meeting.
• If you have lost that Joy, God is calling you back, to come back home to Him and receive the love and care that could not be gotten elsewhere or from any other person or thing (Luke 15:18-24).
- Even if you are an extrovert, a sanguine temperamentally—a fun loving person—as you grow spiritually, your agitations and yearnings for fun loving gatherings would be waning or reducing. The reason being that whoever would walk with God must be ready to walk with Him alone. It is a lonely and narrow road, especially If you are going to be used for an assignment in His Kingdom on the earth (Matthew 7:14).
- The essence of church meetings or fellowship gatherings of the believers is to be equiped or charged spiritually (Ephesians 4:12,13). In order words, the fire you received in the corporate gathering of the believers is meant to keep you on fire until the time for another church or fellowship meeting or gathering. This is the reason why the Bible says we should not forsake the gathering of ourselves, the believers. The gathering is for the strengthening of one another (Hebrews 10:25).
- You should be able to keep the fire of prayer and the study of the Bible burning in your life personally even without being privileged to attend any believer's gathering.
• The spiritual life of many professed believers is pathetical. If they had no opportunity of attending church services or meetings for a while, they would be something else entirely—they would backslide in the spirit.
- If I may ask you, What would you do If you found yourself in a nation where there is no freedom of worship or religion? It means some so-called believers would stop serving God completely.
- Some who live where things are relatively easy and yet not serious with their faith, their Christian life, What would such people do If they found themselves where believers in Christ are being persecuted? In fact, some would completely renounce their faith and deny Christ and be out of Christian faith.
• If you cannot pray alone or read the Word of God, the Bible, alone; It means you are carnal, you are spiritually shallow. Thus, take a step now to build your spiritual life through a working fellowship or communion with God.
- It started with a daily reading and studying of the Bible systematically with the help of the Holy Spirit on the inside of you—having a Word of prayer with the passage you read.
