ON WHOM IS YOUR HOPE, TRUST, AND CONFIDENCE? 1
ON WHOM IS YOUR HOPE, TRUST, AND CONFIDENCE? 1
3 DON'T PUT YOUR CONFIDENCE IN POWERFUL PEOPLE; THERE IS NO HELP FOR YOU THERE.
4 When they breathe their last, they return to the earth, and all their plans die with them.
5 BUT JOYFULLY ARE THOSE WHO HAVE THE GOD OF ISRAEL AS THEIR HELPER, whose HOPE is in the LORD THEIR GOD."
Psalm 146:3-5 (NLT)
• The psalmist says happy are those who have the God of Israel as their Helper.
- The trust you have in humans would lead to disappointment. Because when the breathings of those whom you put your trust stopped, they returned to the earth.
- The help comes from God, to those who's hope and trust is in Him. So If your trust and hope are in God, you would not be let down.
- Your trust and hope in the people who are highly placed in the world would eventually fail. Because when their breathings stopped, whatever they have promised to do for you, would all be gone—be a forgotten issue.
- No one can help you without God. Whoever is helping or assisting you, one way or another, such is being used as an instrument; thus, he or she should not be idolized.
VAIN is the help of Man, humans, when God is not involved (Psalm 108:12). - Whoever is a believer in Christ Jesus, the Hope, trust, and the desire of such should be on God. If you are emotionally attached to someone because of what he or she has promised to do for you, God would allow the person to let you down—disappoint you.
- Confidence in powerful people or those who are highly placed cannot help you. Those whom you see, as powerful people or highly placed, are allowed to be whatever they are by God's mercy and kindness.
• A Believer in Christ Jesus' help can only come through God's plan and programme for such a person's life.
- A believer in Christ Jesus would not rise through the pattern of the system of the world.
- If your trust is put in someone, God would allow you to be disappointed. The help of a believer is in God (Psalm 121:1). The text of this teaching says when you put your confidence in powerful people or highly placed ones, there is no help for you there (Psalm 146:3).
- God would not allow whoever would be boastful or vauntful about what he or she had done for you. The glory of whatever is done in your life which would not be given to God, He would not allow to make happen—such would not be a reality.
- If you are let down by someone as a believer in Christ Jesus, God permitted it. He probably has seen that your focus have shifted from Him to the person who promises or proposes to help you.
- If glory or honour of whatever good thing that happens in your life would be given to any other person, apart from Him, God; He would allow the thing to flop—it would not manifest or materialize.
• If you are passionately committed to God and His Kingdom, and the affection you have for Him and His Kingdom is being demanded by someone, such wanted it to be shared with him or her.
- The person is treading a dangerous path. Such might have an issue with God, because he or she is trying to take or steal His affection in your Heart (Matthew 18:6; Mark 9:42).
- The person is trying to shift your gaze or focus to himself or herself, and such might bring a serious negative consequences on themselves.
- This could happen between a husband and the wife also. If your spouse is gradually taking the place of God in your life, expect a disappointment from him or her.
• If you are emotionally drained, before you got into a marriage union, the problem might not be solved. Let God heal you of whatever emotional problem you are having before you get into a marriage relationship.
- If you had the thought that your husband or wife would heal you of whatever emotional trauma, It would be a mirage. It is only God who can do that in your life and for you.
- Some have married because they thought they would find fulfilment in marriage union, but they are disappointed because what they are expecting their spouses to do could only be done by God.
- This is Why a believer's confidence or trust should not be in any person. If your confidence, or trust, or hope, is put in a person; God Himself would allow you to be let down, disappointed, by the person. Because the place meant for Him, that should be given to Him in your life or Heart; is being given to the person in question.
- In fact, If care is not taken, whoever does it, wants to woo you from God to himself or herself, is at the risk of losing their life.
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
- Whatever is not of God in your system is cursed and completely uprooted in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
- The hold being broken now will never rise again in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Peace!
