GOD DESERVES OUR PRAISE
1 I WILL PRAISE YOU, O LORD, WITH MY WHOLE HEART; I WILL TELL OF ALL YOUR MARVELOUS WORKS.
2 I will be glad and rejoice in You; I WILL SING PRAISE YOUR NAME, O MOST HIGH."
Psalm 9:1,2 (NKJV)
David in above Psalm passage said he will tell about God’s marvellous works. For He has done great and marvelous things (Psalm 9:1).
If you can think, you will know how to thank God. When you praise God, you provoke Him to do more of the like of what He has done in your life.
You should always acknowledge God’s goodness in your life. You praise God with your whole heart and not half-heartedly.
The truth is, God may have not done all you wanted Him to do, however, that which He has done is good.
God deserves our thanks and praises, regardless of what you think He has not done!
In the work of ministry or whatever assignment given to you to do; your focus should be on God, and you should appreciate Him for every result, no matter how minute or small the result might be.
Ascribe the glory of your success to God.
Acknowledge Him and tell Him that He is the One who has performed the miracles.
Also, you should let people know that God is the reason for your success: “SING PRAISES TO THE LORD, WHO DWELLS IN ZION! DECLARE HIS DEEDS AMONG THE PEOPLE" (Psalm 9:11).
You cannot but have a reason to praise God If you did walk with Him as you ought to—living according to His principles.
In walking with God, you experience His amazements and surprises every minute, hour, and day.
God is awesome and greatly to be praised. Thus, God’s deeds should be declared among the people: "THAT I MAY TELL OF ALL YOUR PRAISE IN THE GATES OF THE DAUGHTER OF ZION. I WILL REJOICE IN YOUR SALVATION" (Psalm 9:14).
Note:
• Testimonies of God’s deeds stimulate faith in other people. In other words, the testimony you give will reproduce its kind.
• When you give a testimony of what God has done, it provokes Him to do more.
Learn how to thank and praise God. Thank Him for all He has done and the ones He is still doing, whilst you praise Him for Who He is.
In other words, God is God. In every situation, whatever you are passing through, God is still God and He would remain God.
Thus, God deserves your praises whether He has done what you are asking for or He has not done it. The fact that God remains God, He deserves your praises: "ENTER INTO HIS GATES WITH THANKSGIVING, AND INTO HIS COURTS WITH PRAISE. BE THANKFUL TO HIM, AND BLESS HIS NAME" (Psalm 100:4 NKJV).
17 THOUGH THE FIG TREE MAY NOT BLOSSOM, NOR FRUIT BE ON THE VINES; THOUGH THE LABOUR OF THE OLIVE MAY FAIL, AND THE FIELDS YIELD NO FOOD; THOUGH THE FLOCK MAY BE CUT OFF FROM THE FOLD, AND THERE BE NO HERD IN THE STALLS—
18 YET I WILL REJOICE IN THE LORD, I WILL JOY IN THE GOD OF MY SALVATION."
Habakkuk 3:17,18 (NKJV)
Whatever the situation is, make sure you are thanking and praising God!
Peace!
