SHEPHERDING
FOR GOOD MEASURE
SHEPHERDING
"AS I LIVE, "says the Lord God, "surely because My flock became a prey, and My flock became food for every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, nor did My shepherds search for My flock, BUT THE SHEPHERDS FED THEMSELVES AND DID NOT FEED MY FLOCK."
Ezekiel 34:8 (NKJV)
Comment: The primary assignment of a shepherd is to feed the sheep, but the shepherds of Israel were feeding themselves without feeding the flock. The two major assignment of a ministry leader is to feed the flock and search or look for the missing sheep (John 21:15-17). The shepherds of Israel, the leaders of Israel, were guilty—they failed in this two responsibilities—they abandoned the flock of God and concentrated on feeding themselves. If the blame would not be on you as a leader or minister, pay attention to the feeding of the souls under your leadership (Titus 2:15; 1 Peter 5:2-4). Teach them the word of God, pray for them, and visit those who are absent; also seek the backsliding ones (Acts 20:28). Peace.
