WHAT COULD BE CONSIDERED A SMALL REQUEST 1
4 I SOUGHT THE LORD, AND HE HEARD ME, AND DELIVERED ME FROM ALL MY FEARS.
5 THEY LOOKED TO HIM AND WERE RADIANT, AND THEIR FACES WERE NOT ASHAMED.
6 THIS POOR MAN CRIED OUT, AND THE LORD HEARD HIM, AND SAVED HIM OUT OF ALL HIS TROUBLES.
7 THE ANGEL OF THE LORD ENCAMPS [shelters] ALL AROUND THOSE WHO FEAR HIM, And DELIVERS THEM.
8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good;
BLESSED IS THE MAN WHO TRUSTS IN HIM!
9 OH, FEAR THE LORD, you His saints! THERE IS NO WANT TO THOSE WHO FEAR HIM.
10 THE YOUNG LIONS LACK AND SUFFER HUNGER; BUT THOSE WHO SEEK THE LORD SHALL NOT LACK ANY GOOD THING."
Psalm 34:4–10 (NKJV)
• When you cry to God in your sufferings or predicaments, He would hear you (Psalm 34:4). Whatever may be your fear, God will help you (Psalm 34:4).
- What are the things that bring fear.
a. Fear comes when shame is inevitable.
b. Challenges of life also bring fear. - Whatever may be the cause or source of the fear, God is equal to the task If the matter is turned to Him through prayer.
- Trust in God is the foundation of having peace and living a victorious Christian life: " . . . BLESSED IS THE MAN WHO TRUSTS IN HIM" (Psalm 34:8 NKJV).
- What builds trust, faith, and intimacy with God is the walking in the Spirit. This walking in the Spirit is all about communion or fellowshipping with God through your spirit, inward man; and it is the primary or foundation of spiritual living.
• There are various needs or challenges being faced by different individual persons. Some have challenges on basic needs of life, material needs, whilst some on spiritual needs, and others on emotional needs.
- Lions which are considered a ferocious animal could go hungry, but those who trust in God would not lack any good thing: "THE YOUNG LIONS LACK AND SUFFER HUNGER; BUT THOSE WHO SEEK THE LORD SHALL NOT LACK ANY GOOD THING" (Psalm 34:10 NKJV).
- Note:
a. Needs cannot be met nor the challenges of life be solved by physical strength: “PEOPLE DON'T WIN JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE STRONG" (1 Samuel 2:9 New International Reader's Version).
b. Your position or activities in the church cannot intimidate the devil. He does not respect the position or titles, or the activities of a person in the church; but the person's faith in the integrity of the Word of God, the Bible.
IN other words, being religious and your engagement in the church activities would not be of help if you had no personal fellowship or communion with God. You cannot fray or terrify the devil with activities: "I [Paul] WAS ONE OF THE MOST RELIGIOUS JEWS OF MY OWN AGE IN THE WHOLE COUNTRY AND TRIED AS HARD AS I POSSIBLY COULD TO FOLLOW ALL THE OLD, TRADITIONAL RULES OF MY RELIGION" (Galatians 1:14). - Needs are meant to be met, and this could only be done by turning them to God in prayer through faith.
• Intimacy with God gives you confidence or boldness and faith to come to God for help and receive mercy (Hebrews 4:6).
- The intimacy with God is built through communion or fellowship, or walking in the revelation.
- In other words, walking in the Spirit is when your life is guided or directed or led by the Holy Spirit through your recreated human spirit—the inward man.
- If a believer is established in this pattern of walking with God, that is, following or being led by intuition, through desires to know God's Will in whatever to be done. Then, whatever maybe the need in the life of such a believer would usually be settled in the place of communion or fellowship with God.
- In walking with God, the pattern of being led or following the intuition; you would let God know about all things in your life, even what is considered to be the smallest or minutest or insignificant issue.
- In it you would be sincere with God, be plain and open to Him. You talk to Him as your Father, because the intimacy or cordiality would have been built or made through your communion with Him.
- In such an atmosphere of relationship and fellowshipping with God, you would be bold and relax, and feel free to tell Him whatever you could not tell anyone, because the rapport is there and you know God does exist and real: "IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE GOD APART FROM FAITH. AND WHY? BECAUSE ANYONE WHO WANTS TO APPROACH GOD MUST BELIEVE BOTH THAT HE [is or] EXISTS AND THAT HE CARES ENOUGH TO RESPOND TO THOSE WHO SEEK HIM" (Hebrews 11:6 The Message MSG).
- In such a place of meeting or fellowship with God, you tell Him whatever is in your heart. If you are discouraged, hurt or wounded in your heart, you tell Him everything, He would surely heal and help you.
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
- Should there be any ailment in your body, I declare your healing now in Jesus' name.
- Whatever is not planted in your life, working against your well-being, such is cursed and rooted out in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Peace!
