WHAT COULD BE CONSIDERED A SMALL REQUEST 2
4 I SOUGHT THE LORD, AND HE HEARD ME, AND DELIVERED ME FROM ALL MY FEARS.
5 THEY LOOKED TO HIM AND WERE RADIANT, AND THEIR FACES WERE NOT ASHAMED.
6 THIS POOR MAN CRIED OUT, AND THE LORD HEARD HIM, AND SAVED HIM OUT OF ALL HIS TROUBLES.
7 THE ANGEL OF THE LORD ENCAMPS [shelters] ALL AROUND THOSE WHO FEAR HIM, And DELIVERS THEM.
8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good;
BLESSED IS THE MAN WHO TRUSTS IN HIM!
9 OH, FEAR THE LORD, you His saints! THERE IS NO WANT TO THOSE WHO FEAR HIM.
10 THE YOUNG LIONS LACK AND SUFFER HUNGER; BUT THOSE WHO SEEK THE LORD SHALL NOT LACK ANY GOOD THING."
Psalm 34:4–10 (NKJV)
• Mostly, the people who come to God or who claimed to be serving Him, do not usually build the kind of intimacy with God that would give them the room to tell or discuss everything about their lives with Him. They do not express their feelings before Him!
- People, a lot of believers, pray for praying sake. They come to God with a regimented pattern of prayers, praying mechanically. Some even come with a prayer book or outline, which would guide them on what to pray and the prayer points would already had been written in it.
- Such a believer would pour out everything, the prayer points in the book mentioned, before God without any care—whether God heard the prayers or not. Whether God has something to say or not does not matter. The person would just believe he or she has prayed, and that is all.
- Because of lack of Intimacy between a believer and God, such would not be able to express his or her feelings or tell or pour out their minds to God as they would do before a human being; either a pastor or counselor or whoever cares for them.
• In addition, people, believers also, prefer, or would rather want to tell another human being; a pastor or whoever shows interest in their matters, their problems, than telling them to God in conversational prayers.
- Your feelings, emotional hurts or wounds, should be explained or expressed to God in the place of prayer.
- The truth is, the person you expressed your feelings or woes to, might empathize with you, and may counsel or advice on what to do; but they cannot at all or in any way attend or solve the problem as God would.
- God wants every believer to build intimacy, a platform through which they can approach Him, without any intermediary, and tell Him whatever in their hearts. When a believer succeeded in this, in building such intimacy, he or she would not have to be running from pillar to post, place to place, when a need or problem arises in their life.
• Note: nothing is too small or minute to tell God. He cares, and He is interested to know and help you out of whatever the challenge or predicament.
- At times you might think an issue is insignificant, and you should not bother God with it. Yet it is bothering your heart, but looks too small to be told or shared with Him. If you did not tell Him, Who else do you want to tell?
- Also, there are some needs which you think you should be able to handle by yourself, that you should not bother God about them, they are too insignificant to pray about or talk to Him on. But the truth is, God is interested in all the matters of your life. In fact, If you are telling God the minutest details of things in your life, the stronger the bond between you and Him would be. You are indirectly or unknowingly strengthening the intimacy and cordiality or communion between you and Him If you did or practiced this.
- Another thing is, some think God may not or would not understand some things If they should tell Him about it. They think such things are ephemeral or momentary issues that could be solved without telling or bothering God about it. Besides, God might not understand, and might not be interested in handling or intervening in such things.
- Beloved, the truth is, God is interested in every aspect or department of your life, as a believer in Christ Jesus. He wanted to have the ultimate say-so, a voice or the right of final decision, in every matter of your life.
• Physical strength cannot help, It is only trust in God that would help you: "HE GUARDS THE STEPS OF HIS FAITHFUL ONES, WHILE THE WICKED ARE MADE SILENT IN DARKNESS. HE GRANTS THE REQUEST OF THE ONE WHO PRAYS. HE BLESSES THE YEAR OF THE RIGHTEOUS. INDEED IT'S NOT BY STRENGTH THAT A PERSON PREVAILS" (1 Samuel 2:9 International Standard Version).
- Your position or attainment in the church cannot help you, but the trust in God that is built through intimacy or communion with Him is what will help you.
- When you are worried, you are distressed, and fear set in, go to God in your closet or a solitary place and talk It out with Him in prayer (Matthew 6:6).
- When Jesus Christ was about to end His earthly Ministry, and to fulfil the purpose of His coming to the earth, that is, to be crucified for the sin of mankind. He was discouraged and exceedingly sorrowful. He went to the garden of Gethsemane, to talk It out with God (Matthew 26:36-39; Mark 14:32-36).
- There would always be a time in your journey on earth, as a believer, when you would be distressed and need the comfort of Jehovah, God—the kind or type which no human can give you. At such a time, you would need to go to God and pour out your heart to Him in prayer as Christ Jesus did in the garden of Gethsemane.
- Remember, God is waiting for you to call on Him, He would not act without your prayer.
- You have the choice to tell God your needs or find a way of meeting such needs by yourself. If you chose to tell whatever the need to God, you had chosen the right path, the path of wisdom.
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
- Should there be any ailment in your body, I declare your healing now in Jesus' name.
- Whatever is not planted in your life that is working against your well-being, such is cursed and rooted out completely in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Peace!
STEPS TO SALVATION
• Take notice of this:
IF you are yet to take the step of salvation, that is, yet to be born-again, do it now, tomorrow might be too late (2 Corinthians 6:1,2; Hebrews 3:7,8,15).
a. Acknowledge that you are a sinner and confess your Sins (1 John 1:9); And ask Jesus Christ to come into your life (Revelation 3:20).
b. Confess that you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that you confess it with your mouth, thus, you accept Him As your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9,10).
c. As you took the steps A and B your name is written in the Book of Life (Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:8).
- If you took the steps As highlighted above, congratulations, It means you are saved—born-again. Join a Word based church in your area and Town or city, and be part of whatever they are doing there. Peace!
