WHERE WILL YOU SPEND YOUR ETERNITY? 2
14 “LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED; YOU BELIEVE IN GOD, BELIEVE ALSO IN ME.
2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 AND IF I GO AND PREPARE A PLACE FOR YOU, I WILL COME AGAIN AND RECEIVE YOU TO MYSELF; THAT WHERE I AM, THERE YOU MAY BE ALSO.
4 AND WHERE I GO YOU KNOW, AND THE WAY YOU KNOW.”
John 14:1–4 (NKJV)
No one would live eternally here on the earth, everyone will depart this world, it is only that every person's destination after death would be different (Matthew 25:31-46). In fact, this world itself would be destroyed by fire at the end (2 Peter 3:7,10).
A person's destination after death would be based on the choice which he did make about eternity. That depends on what you as a person did about the free gift of salvation that is offered through Jesus Christ's substitutionary death for mankind in general (1 John 2:1,2). Whether you rejected the free gift of salvation or accepted it (Romans 10:9,10).
10 BUT THE DAY OF THE LORD WILL COME AS A THIEF IN THE NIGHT, IN WHICH THE HEAVENS WILL PASS AWAY WITH A GREAT NOISE, AND THE ELEMENTS WILL MELT WITH FERVENT HEAT; BOTH THE EARTH AND THE WORKS THAT ARE IN IT WILL BE BURNED UP.
11 THEREFORE, since all these things will be dissolved, WHAT MANNER OF PERSONS OUGHT YOU TO BE IN HOLY CONDUCT AND GODLINESS, 12 LOOKING FOR AND HASTENING THE COMING OF THE DAY OF GOD, BECAUSE OF WHICH THE HEAVENS WILL BE DISSOLVED, BEING ON FIRE, AND THE ELEMENTS WILL MELT WITH FERVENT HEAT?
13 NEVERTHELESS WE, ACCORDING TO HIS PROMISE, LOOK FOR NEW HEAVENS AND A NEW EARTH IN WHICH RIGHTEOUSNESS DWELLS. 14 THEREFORE, BELOVED, LOOKING FORWARD TO THESE THINGS, BE DILIGENT TO BE FOUND BY HIM IN PEACE, WITHOUT SPOT AND BLAMELESS."
2 Peter 3:10–14 (NKJV)
How you live your life on earth, and what you did with the gift of salvation offered freely by God through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, determined where your end would be (Revelation 20:12,15).
Some people would end their lives in the eternity of Bliss, everlasting life of Joy and happiness, whilst some others will end in the eternity of sorrow, everlasting destruction.
You choose where to spend your eternity whilst you are here on earth. No one will do it, or can do it for you. It is a personal decision and responsibility.
A husband cannot choose or decide for the wife, and vice versa, the wife cannot decide and choose for the husband; where to spend eternity.
And also, the son or daughter can not choose where to spend eternity for the parents, father or mother, and the parents cannot for their sons or daughters. But, they can encourage, admonish, counsel, and help talk to the person to choose wisely.
If you decided to be and live with Jesus Christ at the end of your journey on the earth (John 14:2,3), then, you have to live your life for Him and for Him alone:
"AND HE [Jesus] DIED FOR ALL, THAT THOSE WHO LIVE SHOULD LIVE NO LONGER FOR THEMSELVES, BUT FOR HIM WHO DIED FOR THEM AND ROSE AGAIN" (2 Corinthians 5:15 NKJV).
READ: 1 Peter 4:1,2
If you want to be with Christ Jesus at the end of your journey on earth, you would have to live your life according to His Word (John 15:14).
If you chose to live for God here on earth, you have chosen to live with Him in His eternal Kingdom, after your journey on earth.
As many who did not receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour are already condemned (John 1:11,12; 3:18).
To be with Jesus Christ at the end of your journey on earth eternally, take these steps:
(i) If you are yet to be born-again, acknowledge that you are a sinner, and that Jesus Christ died for your sin, that you might be justified and be reconciled with God (Romans 4:25; 10:9,10; 2 Corinthians 5:21).
(ii) Confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and that you accepted Him as your personal Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9,10). And ask Jesus to come into your heart and live with you (Revelation 3:20).
(iii) Ask Jesus to baptize you with the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in the new tongues (Luke 3:16; 11:13).
WHEN you receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, you would speak in the new tongues, as an evidence of being baptized (Acts 2:4; 10:44-46; 19:6).
(iv) Live your life according to the Word of God (John 6:63; James 1:21,22,25).
(v) Make prayer and fasting part of your life (Mark 9:29; 2 Corinthians 11:27).
Life in Christ Jesus is in the Spirit (John 4:23), and it is superior to the life in the physical. In fact, the quality of your life in the spirit determines the quality of your Christian life in the physical (John 4:23,24; Romans 8:12-14; Galatians 5:16-18).
If you live in the Spirit you will not fulfil the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16,17).
If you pay attention to the things shared in this piece, and practice them, you would have a place in Jesus' eternal Kingdom.
You will not fail in Jesus' name.
If there is any ailment in your body, such is rebuked and cursed now in Jesus' name.
I declare your healing now in Jesus' name.
Peace!
