Getting ready to bring Japan to the States for Christmas (Gift ideas!)
For the kids!

This little stockpile of inexpensive goodies should keep the kids at bay for a bit: poop-in-the-toilet squirt guns, candy sushi kits, gummies, wind-up fighting beetles, etc.
For the big kids (i.e “adults)!

Pre-loaded crypto currency paper wallets. In the package is a paper wallet and a USB stick for backup. The USB stick contains a music playlist I made for this winter, which is loosely Japan-themed. I’m going to include lyrics and a card/artwork to accompany this. I love this idea, because I can truly share thoughts, ideas, and feelings that mean a lot to me, and hopefully my friends and family can enjoy these songs and the crypto investment for a long time to come.

Ear picks. These things are fucking wonderful! Beat q-tips any day.
What about you guys? What are you doing for presents this Christmas? I wanted to keep things simple, heartfelt, and affordable this year, and am having a lot of fun doing it!

Awesome gifts Graham.
I remember those ear picks mate, they are fucking awesome.
Thanks man. They really are. Maybe one of my main reasons for staying here. Heh heh.
Im sure the kiddies will love it! And the adult gift preloaded crypto wallet is the best one! lol
Agreed!
Christmas... Eat, drink, get wasted, spend good amounts of cash, rinse and repeat next year.
Are you printing your own paper wallet gifts?
If so, then do they rely on you (who printed them) leaving the coin untouched? Do they recommend an online wallet?
I would love to see you do an article describing what/how you are doing to produce those, in detail... I think it's a great gift idea! :D
😄😇😄

Hey @creatr!
Yeah, I print them myself using sites like bitaddress.org offline. I don't save or memorize the private keys, so once I give them away, they are out of my reach. I've done an article on the process before, but it may be a bit outdated now. I'll have to follow your suggestion and make a new one soon!
Thanks!
Thank you.
I'll have to dig up your old article.
It would be great if you could publish something current soon, in time for Christmas... :D
Looks good. I see chopsticks in the photo. Reminds me of the last time I went to the States. Over the years I have sent just about every family member a nice pair of chopsticks. I never thought they'd start using them for every meal like I now do, but I figured maybe when they went to a Chinese place or something they might bring them. Well, last time I went to the states I happened to look on the wrong drawer at my folk's house when I was looking for silverwear and I see all of the chopsticks I had sent to everyone over the years. haha guess they didn't know what to do with them after all so just gave them to my folks. Oh well. I like the usb stick with song idea!
Lol. Dude that fuckin’ sucks. That is super funny. Yeah, those in the picture are for a family I know will use them. They’re kinda on the hip side. Most of my relatives would have likely done something similar. :)
haha well it is as it is. I should have known better than to try to give Hoosiers some culture. 😆 I hope you have more success than me. Paper wallets is something I need to do myself. After I get new ink cartridges. Been delaying on that one. Is your extended family into crypto too, or at least open to the idea?
My folks are open to it. I think it surprised them when I told them I was coming home for Christmas and had paid my airfare with BTC. They’re really interested.
As for the other relatives, I’m not really sure. I’m even kind of feeling things out with my friends, on deciding if a paper wallet is a good gift. I don’t like the feeling of giving away crypto to someone that I am almost certain won’t use it or will lose it.
That's cool your folks are interested. My dad is interested, but he's an investment banker, so he's also very conservative when it comes to money. But he is interested.
With some of your friends, maybe just load the wallet with a small amount. A buck or three. That way it may be enough to trigger some interest, but if they don't use it, no big waste.
You gathered a very unique thing ♪
This is my favorite too!😃
You are a very attentive English professor
Oh these are not for my students, but my friends’ children back in the USA. I wouldn’t spend this much money on my students. Ha ha. 😝
Haha
Hello @kafkanarchy,
My christmas are always low key, since no kids yet to disturb me for anything. I just go to church on the day, come back and eat a little special food.
what a gift idea i like it very much, i also like japan in the deep of my hart,
those all look like some awesome gifts!, haven't seen the ear pick before either- thought it was chopsticks at first lol😂
Thanks! Yeah man, ear picks are the best!
