Looking up at the tall forest trees near the waterfalls of Beni M'Tir in the mountains of northern Tunisia.

Hello Steemians,

For Week 2 of the CineAtlas filmmaking challenge, I chose to film a small natural story during a visit to the forest area near the waterfalls of Beni M'Tir, a peaceful mountain village located a few kilometers from Aïn Draham in the Jendouba region of northern Tunisia.

This place is surrounded by dense forest, fresh mountain air, and small natural waterfalls that appear between the rocks. Even though the waterfall itself is not very large, the atmosphere of the forest creates a beautiful cinematic environment.

For this week's challenge, the goal was to tell a small story using exactly three shots: Wide, Medium, and Close-Up.

The Cinematic Moment A 3 Shot Story

My micro-film was recorded using my iPhone 13 Pro Max and its three camera lenses to naturally represent the required shots: 0.5 (wide), 1x (medium), and 3x (close-up).

The story follows a short moment of exploration inside the forest until reaching the hidden waterfall.

The first shot uses the 0.5 ultra-wide lens to capture the height of the forest trees and establish the natural environment of the place. Standing among the trees and looking up emphasizes the scale and beauty of the forest.

The second shot switches to the 1x lens, showing the arrival at the waterfall area where a few visitors are enjoying the peaceful natural setting. This moment represents reaching the destination of the walk through the forest.

Finally, the third shot uses the 3x zoom lens to focus directly on the waterfall itself. The flowing water becomes the final detail of the story, creating a calm and natural ending to the micro-film.

The small cascade hidden between rocks and trees.

The forest surrounding Beni M'Tir is part of the mountainous region of northern Tunisia and is known for its tall trees and cool climate. Walking through the forest paths, the sound of water slowly becomes louder until the small waterfall appears between the rocks.

Even though the cascade is modest in size, the surrounding environment makes the place feel peaceful and cinematic.

This natural combination of forest, water, and mountain landscape makes it a perfect location to film a simple visual story.

Proof Video : 3 Shots Micro Film

This micro-film was recorded using my iPhone 13 Pro Max in HD resolution. Each shot was captured using a different camera lens to respect the cinematic rule of the challenge:

Wide shot 0.5 lens to establish the forest environment
Medium shot 1x lens to show the arrival at the waterfall area
Close-up shot 3x lens to highlight the waterfall detail

The final video lasts around 30 seconds and contains exactly three shots with simple cuts between them, following the rules of Week 2.

Beni M'Tir is a small Tunisian village located in the mountains of the Jendouba region. The area sits at around 650 meters above sea level and is surrounded by forest landscapes that make it a popular destination for nature lovers.

Why I Chose This Place

I chose this forest location because it naturally fits the storytelling structure required for this week's challenge.

The tall trees create a strong wide establishing shot, the arrival at the waterfall provides the main action of the story, and the moving water offers a beautiful close-up detail to finish the sequence.

Even with a simple smartphone camera, nature itself provides the cinematic atmosphere.

Through these three shots, I wanted to capture a small moment of discovery in the forests of northern Tunisia.
