Kutubpur Balur Point, located at the foot of Jamuneshwari River in Kutubpur Union of Badarganj Upazila of Rangpur District, has now emerged as a hidden and enchanting tourist center of North Bengal. This huge bend in the river, very close to Arunnecha Bazar, has naturally created a vast sandbar, which looks like a miniature version of the desert. The biggest feature of this place is its authenticity; Visitors get a chance to get directly close to nature as it is untouched by modern urbanization. The calm flow of the Yamuneshwari River and the miles of white sand on its banks combine to create a beautiful landscape.

Geographically this Balur Point is located next to Arunnecha Bazar so its transportation system is quite convenient. From Badarganj Upazila Sadar, you have to cross the Pichdhala road and reach here through the green and winding roads of rural Bengal. Cropland, orchards and small villages on both sides of the road give the tourists a mellow flavor before reaching the main destination. The water depth in this part of the river varies seasonally, which varies the tourist experience. During the monsoons when the river is full to the brim, the horizon is filled with water and the play of waves that mesmerises the viewer.

During the dry season, when the water level of the river recedes, the dhu dhu sandbanks rise up which creates a wonderful environment for walking or hanging out under the open sky. Qutubpur Sand Point form becomes most enchanting in the afternoon. As the sun sets in the west, the golden glow of the sun falls on the calm waters of the river and the shimmering sand creating a magical setting. At this time, the scene of local fishermen fishing in small boats or when the kashaban of the shore sways in the wind, it seems like a picture painted by a skilled artist.

Many visitors come here just to enjoy this magnificent view of the sunset. It has now become a favorite place for photography or videography, especially among the younger generation.Because the natural light and the background here multiply the beauty of any photo. Sitting on the sand, feeling the cool breeze of the river and listening to the lapping of the water gives a unique sense of relaxation. For those looking for a little solitude to escape the tedium of mechanical life, this place serves as a wonderful haven.

This point also has a deep connection with the local way of life. Next to the hustle and bustle of Arunnecha Bazar, this tranquil sand point is a beautiful contrast. From local people to tourists from far and wide, they like to spend time here on the banks of the river. The chatter of tea stalls in the market and the scent of the metho path give a different kind of tranquility to the visitors who come here. As the place is not yet commercialized, the nature here has maintained its own identity, which is much more satisfying than the artificial tourist centers. The place also has an indirect link with the local economy. Traders in Arunnecha market have now regained a new vibrancy due to the influx of tourists.

Tourists get a touch of rural hospitality to taste the local pitha-puli or fresh tea-snack available in the market.Qutubpur Balur Point is not just a geographical place but also a tranquil gift of Yamuneshwari river which relieves people from daily monotony. If some small seating or rest arrangements are made here for the convenience of tourists, its popularity will increase further. Finally, Qutubpur Balur Point is a living example of the natural beauty of the northern town of Bangladesh. If some more facilities for tourists can be created in a well-planned manner while protecting the natural environment of the region, it has the potential to become one of the major tourist centers on the map of Bangladesh in the near future. It is hoped that the magic of this quiet river and sand of rural Bengal will remain forever. Qutubpur will soon gain a special name on the map of Rangpur if this gift of nature is properly protected.
