"Burlesque" by Steve Antin - review
So lets write for songs and dances. If you have set yourself up for something more, you are likely to spend two endlessly boring hours. If not, a funny, colorful and sexy musical is waiting for you. Either way, most viewers will see it for Cher and Christina Aguilera and will get that. To admit, after a slightly sluggish start, during which I adapted to Christina Aguilera's acting skills, I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was nothing to irritate me. According to experts searching for a calf, the film is a fairly free interpretation of the Burlesque, but Steve Antin's goal was to educate the audience.
On the other hand, there is everything in Burlesque to entertain - a classic melodramatic storyline, impeccably set and captured dance numbers and talented (and beautiful) actors. In spite of his stony appearance, Cher quickly succeeded in winning our sympathy as the club's troubled enthusiast and a bit later drove the production nail - the impressive performance of "You Have Not Seen The Last Of Me". It would be a crime not to mention that the song that just brought Golden Globe to composer Diane Warren is live in front of the cameras. If you have not impressed this fact, how about the commercial success of the singer making Cher the only performer in the world who has reached the Top 10 on the Billboard ranking for six consecutive decades. Decisive actress Christina Aguilera can make some wishes, but in music numbers it is flawless. In the filmed performances she feels her own and will undoubtedly delight not only her fans, but after "Bound to You" you will surely be willing to forgive her wherever bigger misdemeanors.
One of the undisputed things in this film is the selection of actors in supporting roles. Peter Gallagher, Eric Dane and especially Stanley Tucci are so convincing that it's almost impossible to imagine other actors in their place. The same goes for Kristen Bell, who has just blurted off his radar after "When You're in Rome". Do not think I've forgotten Kam Gigaday. On the contrary. Burlesque is just not the kind of films that have been made to stir discussions. What you will need is a bucket of popcorns and friends with whom the pleasure will be complete.

I loved every single minute of the film because it is exactly what you would expect, but more in all the right places. That's Burlesque. I loved it.

Its such a fabulous movie. The performances of Cher and Christina Aguilera is truly marvelous specially Christina Aguilera's. Her eyes are so deeep, and we must not forget the song "You Haven't Seen the Last of Me" so full of enthusiastic and full of life.

The only thing better than songs and dances is more songs and dances.
And how does Cher always stay the same age? I feel like she is the same age as she was when I was a baby.
When I'm an old man with a walking stick, Cher will still be jumping around like an athlete, singing and dancing lol!
