Chaos Rises - Soundtrack Music
This track was the first on the album that I released. It's entire purpose as a track was to set a dark mood for the album, as it depicts the rising evil that must be defeated by the protagonist. Starting with a string orchestra, a rich and thick texture is created. The lower strings don't really settle, with the lower 3rds creating some tension in the overtone series while the violas hit their open C strings to add a biting and guttural quality to the music.
At about the halfway mark in the track, the brass finally enters triumphantly with a theme that becomes pivotal to the evil in the entire album. Fast staccato strings accompany the following part to depict the swirling nature of the chaos and how it is rather unpredictable.
This track was really fun to compose, allowing me to explore several different characters throughout.
