Wir machen uns gerade auf den Weg zurück in den Pott nach Mülheim an der Ruhr.
Der Urlaub ist leider schon wieder vorbei.
Aber wir hatten sehr viel gesehen und erlebt.

Gestern sind wir schon aus Leipzig raus gefahren um die letzte Nacht noch auf einem kleinen gemütlichen Campingplatz zu verbringen..
Auf dem Weg aus Leipzig heraus haben wir noch bei dem
Völkerschlachtdenkmal im Südosten Leipzigs
angehalten um uns das anzusehen.
- Yesterday we drove out of Leipzig to spend the last night on a small, cozy campsite. On the way out of Leipzig we have another one Monument to the Battle of the Nations in the southeast of Leipzig stopped to look at this.
Das Denkmal wurde in Erinnerung an die Völkerschlacht am 18. Oktober 1913 eingeweiht.
Es wurde nach Entwürfen des Berliner Architekten Bruno Schmitz erbaut.
- The memorial was inaugurated in memory of the Battle of Nations on October 18, 1913.
It was built according to plans by the Berlin architect Bruno Schmitz.
Hier ein Foto des Denkmals mit Spiegelung im vorgelagerten Wasserbecken.
Das Wasserbecken ist künstlich angelegt und 162 × 79 Meter groß.
- Here is a photo of the monument with a reflection in the water basin in front of it. The water basin is artificially created and is 162 × 79 meters in size.
Das Denkmal zählt mit seinen 91 Metern Höhe zu den größten Denkmälern Europas.
Es ist eines der bekannten Wahrzeichen Leipzigs.
Man kann es vom 105 Kilometer entfernten Fichtelberg sehen ist.
Heute ist es eineEinrichtung des Stadtgeschichtlichen Museums Leipzig.
- With its 91 meters height, the monument is one of the largest monuments in Europa. It is one of the well-known landmarks of Leipzig.
It can be seen from Fichtelberg, 105 kilometers away. Today it is part of the Leipzig City History Museum.
Auf den nächsten Fotos seht ihr die Figuren an der vorderen Seite des großen Bauwerke.
Die Figuren oben und auch vorne dran wurden von 2 verschiedenen Steinhauern in die Felsen geschlagen.
- On the next photos you can see the figures on the front side of the large building. The figures above and also in front were carved into the rock by 2 different stone masons.
Hier siehst du noch den Aufbau des Denkmal.
Man kann zum Preis von 10 Euro durch das Denkmal gehen.
Aber da hatten wir keine Lust und Zeit darauf.
- Here you can still see the structure of the Monument. You can walk through the monument for 10 Euros. But we didn't have the time or inclination to do it.
Wir sind dann lieber noch durch den alten Friedhof neben dem Völkerschlachtdenkmal.
Die Gräber auf dem Friedhof waren teilweise sehr alt.
Die Grabsteine oder auch schon kleine Bauwerke an den Gräbern sind teilweise echt groß und pompös.
Hier zeige ich euch ein paar Beispiele
- We'd rather be through the old cemetery next to the Völkerschlachtdenkmal. Some of the graves in the cemetery were very old. The tombstones or even small structures on the graves are sometimes really big and pompös. Here I show you a few examples
Nach dem Friedhof sind wir dann erstmal raus aus Leipzig gefahren.
Jetzt suchten wir uns für die letzte Nacht noch einen Campingplatz auf dem Weg Richtung Heimat Mülheim an der Ruhr.
Auf dem Weg zum Campingplatz haben wir noch an einem See angehalten. Dort war ein ausgeschriebener Aussichtspunkt.
Hier seht ihr die Aussicht.
Unter anderem auf ein Kraftwerk.
- After the cemetery we first drove out of Leipzig. Now we were looking for a campsite for the last night on the way to our home in Mülheim an der Ruhr. On the way to the campsite, we stopped at a lake. There was an advertised lookout point there. Here you can see the View. Among other things, on a power plant.
Auf dem Weg zum Campingplatz sind wir noch durch 2 Landstraßen die noch mit Pflastersteinen gepflastert waren.
Das sieht man aber auch nur noch selten.
Im Westen Deutschlands sieht man sowas nur noch in alten Städten.
- On the way to the campsite we are still through 2 country roads that were still paved with cobblestones. But you rarely see that anymore.
In western Germany you can only see this in old cities.
Gegen späten Nachmittag sind wir auf dem kleinen Campingplatz an einem kleinen See angekommen.
Zuerst waren wir auf einen großen Touristen Campingplatz, aber das hatte uns nicht gefallen.
Der kleine Platz war dann doch gemütlicher.

- In the late afternoon we arrived at the small campsite by a small lake. First we went to a large tourist campsite, but we didn't like that. The small place was more comfortable. Here photos of the lake at the place.
Und zum Post Abschluß noch der Platz unserer letzten Nacht auf dem Campingplatz.
Sehr gemütlich war es.
- And to finish off the post, our last night's place at the campsite. It was very cozy.
Heute mal ein langer Post von mir. Meine Freundin fährt die 5 Stunden Heimweg und ich habe mal Zeit dafür.
