Parade view from my balcony. Homecoming on the Wes Wes!
In Colorado Springs there are many high schools but only Coronado High has a 38 year standing tradition of a homecoming parade held on the west side of Colorado Springs. The parade moves right down Colorado Blvd and right underneath my balcony. It's kinda cool for my school to still have this celebration when these types of parades are not held at any other school in the city. The west side is its own little community ( almost like a small town) where people support the only High School located in the area. Here are a few pictures of the sights from my house. The parade ends in Bancroft park for a big pep rally across the street from my house.
That is a great small-town tradition. Are you close to the old Colorado city on the west side of Colorado Springs? There used to be a Christmas store called Simpch that made the coolest Santa Claus dolls and other Christmas decorations. I think they've closed down now but I still have their collection of Christmas decorations.
So I actually live in the Simpich lofts in old Colorado City. The Simpich family is right underneath me and they are still open and do daily marionette shows. Funny you know the place. They are in my homeowners association.
I have seen the Simpich Christmas marionette show two years ago with my kids. It was very moving and professionally done. The details in the dolls and marionettes are incredible! In a few months I will be putting Santa 🎅 🤶 out for season! Small world 🌎!
You gotta love High School activities (sports, band, plays). The kids just put so much into it! By the time they get to college or the pros, that sense of entitlement seeps in and it loses all the magic that these young kids have.

Wow it seems a great parade, but most important thing is your photography! I think you got those photography from 2 sides of the balcony! And I wish you can introduce this concept to your school as well!
