ColorChallenge Friday blue

cottesloefb.jpg

My Friday blue. This is the famous Cottesloe Beach in Perth at sunset. What is interesting about this photos is it was taken on a large/medium format film camera. About the size of a large brick, no lie. This is my first well selling photograph, so I like it a lot.

So if you look at the view finder, its just a whole in a metal plate. You have to make a guess of sorts of whats in the frame. The back plate comes off and you wind the film on. Get 4 photos from a roll. 17cm x 6cm negative.
If you look closely just behind the lens glass are nobs. This is where you have to set all the settings up. Exposure, aperture and cock the camera to take a photo. The ISO is set by the type of film you had. And you figured all this out with a light meter.
This photo turned out great as a large print.

Film cameras are fun and you can get some beautiful photos with them. Of course it is a bit expensive with film and processing, especially since I have learned to stitch photos to make a panoramic.
Enjoy.
