Color Challenge Thursday Green: In Love of Leafy Garden Greens!steemCreated with Sketch.

Greens are one of our favorite and most abundant crops, so it feels totally fitting to celebrate them here for the Steemit Color Challenge for Thursday green!

We plant our greens in raised beds made from repurposed monster truck tires, and in the cold fall and winter months we turn it into an easy green house by pulling clear tarps over the beds (we double up the tarps with something dark as well when it gets really cold).

Between our gardens and our wildcrafted food forest, we always have some varieties of leafy greens in season year round! We have kale, spinach, collards, mustard greens, radish and beet greens, lamb's quarter, purslane, many kinds of lettuces, dandelions, bok choy, oxalis, broccoli rabe, arugula, Swiss chard, sweet potato greens, and a variety of herbs as well!

We pick a ginormous basket of greens every day to make super power green juice out of a combination of our plants!

We also LOVE salad and eat one daily! Please enjoy this gallery of a few of our incredible salad creations from our beautiful homegrown greens:

gorgeous mixed greens with red lettuce, oxalis, broccoli rabe flowers, kale, arugula, and curly lettuce

alfalfa sprouts with cherry tomatoes on collard greens

black olives with crispy strips and cranberry jam on mixed greens

grapes with mozzarella, carrots, and radish on swiss chard

mulberries with carrots, walnuts, and queso fresco on mixed greens

Hooray for super nutritious, super delicious, super abundant GREENS!!!

I really Enjoy Green! Appreciation & Upvote.

Such a beautiful, soothing frequency!

Beautiful garden. I'm slightly envious. Though I grow some vegetables well, it continues to be a skill I struggle with.

We have some beautiful gardens & years of experience, but we also make abundant use of the wildcrafted "weeds" that nature blesses us with. There's no "work" involved with raising the wild plants - we just forage, collect, and eat them or use them for medicine!

Very nice picture.in post vote for you and begin to follow you. And Resteem

That's great! Can you grow year round?

Yes we can grow our greens year round because we make a greenhouse for them in the wintertime to keep them warm.

Green, green, green are all my clothes;
green, green, green is all I have.
That is why I love everything that is so green,
because my treasure is a gardener.

What a sweet green poem, @homeartpictures! ❤
