Color Challenge for SaturdayIndigo
This image was created for Color Challenge – SaturdayIndigo
A few years back I took my two sons to Europe. We drove from Barcelona to San Tropez, then along the Mediterranean. I loved seeing those Maritime pines (or Cluster pines) that are so common there. It was such a cool scenic drive along the water. We arrived at Cannes as it got dark, and finally to Nice later that night.
This piece was to capture that feeling, driving the curves along the coast, seeing images of beautiful homes silhouetted by the Mediterranean sea. I'm thinking the lights on the car and the single light on in the house suggest a clandestine encounter. But I may be wrong! Haha
The artwork was created using the vector program Adobe Illustrator. The image above shows my keylines, and to the right the final image with the color palette I created to use. It is a very simple image, but dependent on subtle color changes to make it work right. I gave some shapes graduated fills, where the color changes from lighter to darker. This gives some relief to an otherwise completely flat image.

love the color palette, so simple, yet so lovely to look at. :)
Thanks @daddynifort. I like the challenge of making things as absolutely simple as possible, but still hopefully convincing!
Great colors!
thanks @design-guy
