Colorchallenge Tuesday Orange
Chicken of the woods mushrooms, these remind me of insulation foam when they first start out. These mushrooms taste exactly like chicken and even have a similar texture as chicken. I usually find these in fall after a rain, the only problem is the fall orange leaf color tends to camoflage these in the forest.

I have an old tree stump in the back yard that flushes out pretty hard after a good rain. It's crazy how big they can get in just a couple days. And yer right, they are tasty! I like to raid the stump every time I grill outside.

Chicken of the woods is a good edible, but one can’t eat too much, it can cause digestive problems.

Mushrooms are really interesting and I wish I knew more about the varieties. Your right, I would've assumed these were poisonous before I read your post about what they tasted like.
