Thursday Colourful photography: European bee-eater

The beautiful European bee-eater (Merops apiaster) is one of the most colorful birds of the portuguese avifauna. It's a migratory bird, which arrives in Portugal in early spring and only leaves at the end of the summer...
Among all the other portuguese birds, it stands out due to its exotic appearance!
The one in the picture below was photographed in the Alentejo (southern Portugal), the region where they arrive in greater numbers.

It's really a treat for the eyes, don't you think?
