The Joker (known in Spanish America as the Joker) is a fictional character, a supervillain who appears in comics published by the American publisher DC Comics. Its name in Spanish means Joker, although it also refers to a card of the English deck, equivalent to the wild card. Nothing is known of his past; He himself has said that he is confused with what really happened, always reinventing the fact that he changed his appearance.

He is an enemy and archrival of Batman; One of the reasons for considering this is that he has been responsible for numerous tragedies in his life, such as the paralysis of Barbara Gordon and the death of Jason Todd, who was the second Robin. It was created by Jerry Robinson, Bill Finger and Bob Kane, 6 as a murderous psychopath, but due to the limits set by the Comics Code Authority, his personality was changed to that of a simple harmless buffoon, who liked to annoy the policemen However, in the "rebirth of Batman comics" he regained his former personality as a homicidal maniac and, over the years, has grown darker to the point of being able to murder helpless children, as described in the movie The Dark Knight, where the only thing he seeks is to see the world burn.7 His first appearance was in 1940 for Batman No. 1.1

His appearance is that of a clown with white skin, green hair and an egocentric smile on his face. All these traits are given by an accident he had in his youth. Although it is a mystery even for the Joker himself, since every time he tells the story is different, the most accepted is the accident that occurs in Alan Moore's graphic novel Batman: The Killing Joke.8 It has been repeatedly analyzed by the critics like the perfect adversary of Batman, whose long relationship is often parallel to the concept of yin and yang: Batman is a serious character, with a suit of dark colors and the Joker is colorful and crazy.

He was played by César Romero in the 1960s television series, by Jack Nicholson in Tim Burton's Batman, 9 by Cameron Monaghan in "Gotham", Mark Hamill in Batman: The Animated Series and by Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight by Christopher Nolan.9 Later, Ledger won the Óscar Póstumo for best supporting actor at the 2009 Oscars for his performance of the character. 10 Currently, the person in charge of giving life to the character is the actor Jared Leto for the movie Suicide Squad by Warner Bros. and DC Comics, premiered in 2016.

He is one of the most iconic and recognized superhero villains, ranked number one of the 100 best of all time according to The Wizard's website.11 He was also named the second best villain on the IGN list, 12 As well as the position number eight of the best comic book characters according to Empire magazine, 13 and was listed as the fifth best character in the magazine Wizard.14 15 In the television series Batman of the future, this character is dead (his death is told in the movie Batman of the future: the return of the Joker), but there is a gang of criminals who follow the wake of the character, known as Los Jokerz.

It was not necessary that he had super powers only with the mentality that he had and the money that was moving was super powerful and he knew how to do things always had bread A and B in case the plan A failed was the B
