I won't lie casting is very important in a movie but a good story can overshadow a bad cast. So the only person who needs to do all the work is the Writer / Producer and Director .

That is true. There are bad casting, bad acting calls made all the time. A lot can be fixed with the Writer, Producer and/or even the Director, but sometimes a bad casting is just a bad casting.
