Read this if you have SP and care about new users

in #community6 years ago (edited)

Those of you who have some SP to spare, mind checking over the #introduceyourself tag from time to time?

https://steemit.com/created/introduceyourself (NOT TRENDING)

An assbag is going around randomly flagging new users for no reason at all.

Go ahead and vote them up to undo the flags.

If everyone who sees this takes a random few minutes out of their day to check the tag and upvote the affected accounts, a good newbie may just not quit in disappointment on their first day.

Edit: Not the ones with a long poem and image on the bottom. Those "newbies" are fake accounts part of a botnet.

Thanks.

Thanks will check it out.

Will do buddy. I sometimes think people under estimate the importance of "fresh meat", we need the newbies more than they need us, I'd say. Without platform grown, steemit dies and so ends and amazing journey.

That is actually something great to do. We really have to motivate the new comers! Thanks for your words!

There are a few posts hidden alright so I'll try and push a few. Some bastard to target fresh new people when that's exactly what we need on here.

HI. There is a steemian spammer called camillesteemer who each day creates several new accounts with a female profile photo and text is a poem (currently in spanish); partiko gives him 5 cents ; the proceeds are then transferred to camillesteemer later on (really). Some try to flag these fake accounts. Only whne we are sure it is him again.

Yeah we know about that one. Most of his accounts already had their default delegation removed by Steemit Inc.

Yes this will do. I will try checking it out

Thanks for the info
Will do. That’s some shit

That is crazy!!!

Is it that ninjapiraterobot botnet?

Yeah that's the one.

So are we supposed to counter the flags from ninjapiraterobot?

If you can. On posts of new users. Except for on posts that look like a long poem with an image on the bottom, those are part of a scammer botnet and are fake accounts.

Roger that. There doesn't seem to be anything flagged right now, but I head back later after recharging for a bit.

Thanks. Just found one myself that I fixed.
