Say no to comfort

Capitalism is a system of permanent change. One popular product today ceases to be one tomorrow, being replaced by another, and by another, and by another.

Companies must adapt to the characteristics of such a competitive system. They can't stay put, and in the process you can lose your job: you stop fitting in with their plans.

Then you can't stay still either. My advice is to take your job as a business: you are a business.

Not only make an effort to do things right, but go further, without limiting yourself to your allocations (avoid problems with your colleagues: in capitalism not only companies compete; competition between workers is also fierce). Don't stop learning, don't stop getting better. Become a leader.

Although no one is indispensable, all of this will make it harder for them to choose you if unfortunate layoffs arrive. And given the case, you don't just leave a door open... Yes, sometimes they call you back, or after certain changes, a new opportunity opens up for you (more soon)... It will also make it easier for you - easier doesn't mean easier - to find another job: you can show a more robust resume (I'll explain it to you).

Do you have to wait to get fired?

Not in the least. It is about improving, so it explores the labour market. You can find from a better salary to a company with opportunities to climb positions. Sometimes it helps you realize that it's best to stay calm for a while.

Look at yourself. Calculate. But you have to know very well what you want, what you're after.

Don't be afraid.
