I truly enjoy reading your series and you are spot on again, as well as @techwizardry and @drdave , with their comments. I am in the US and I can tell you the problem lies with the people here.
People are to lazy and gullible when it comes to politics, they would rather trust that their "education system" didn't misinform them about how things work in government. They are to ignorant to see that the government education system was designed to keep them under the thumb of the government.
I hope your post on the legal system covers jury nullification as part of the post. Most people do not realize the power juries have to try not only the case and evidence but the law as well. This is where a person's vote can make a difference. Voting for politicians won't change anything as they are all corrupt, but juries voting to let people free when charged with bogus crimes, like possession of pot , can and will send a message to those in high places that we are not taking what the are selling anymore.
