"Project Paperclip & Beyond" -Human Experimentation-

At first glance, one might ask themselves "Is that a foreign creature or could it possibly be a human that has been through more than we can imagine?" It is no secret that Governmental Alphabet Agencies have experimented on humans for quite a while now. One set of experiments has us looking back at 1945 through 1959 inwhich time there was a "secret program" called Operation Paperclip where the United States captured more than 1600 German Scientist, Engineers, as well as Technicians and placed them in America. If you are not familiar with Operation Paperclip, you might be asking yourself why would the United States want to bring ANY German to US soil especially when it's so recently after one of the largest wars in history? To answer this we will have to look back to Germany in the early 1940s. Scientists were conducting experiments on Men, Women, and Children who were subjected to various hazardous experiments that were designed to help German military personnel in combat situations, aid in the recovery of military personnel who had been injured as well as develop new weapons. The primary purpose of Operation Paperclip was for the United States military to gain an advantage in the Soviet–American Cold War and aid in the Space Race. The Soviet Union was more aggressive in forcibly recruiting more than 2,200 German specialists (a total of more than 6,000 people including family members) with Operation Osoaviakhim.

Human experimentation during this time was unregulated. The American Government understood that if the experiments which were being conducted would ever be made known to the general public, it would have been promptly investigated and restructured if not stopped completely due to the adverse nature of it as a whole so a secret AEC(United States Atomic Energy Commission ) document dated April 17, 1947, titled Medical Experiments in Humans stated: "It is desired that no document be released which refers to experiments with humans that might have an adverse reaction on public opinion or result in legal suits. Documents covering such fieldwork should be classified Secret. The deception did not stop there but rather was just getting started. At the same time the AEC document was created the Public Health Service was instructed to inform citizens who where located in areas located downwind from ongoing nuclear bomb tests that the increases in cancers were due to "Neurosis", and that women with radiation sickness, hair loss, and burned skin were simply suffering from "Housewife Syndrome". It was not until 1964 when the World Medical Association passed the Declaration of Helsinki, a set of ethical principles for the medical community regarding human experimentation, that some form of regulation began. To this day, these experiments are still happening. Some in secret while others are proudly shown and praised as a leap forward towards the next evolutionary stepping stone of human/genetic research. The Physicians for Human Rights released this white paper stating that after 9/11

"The Bush administration initiated new human intelligence collection programs. To that end, it detained and questioned an unknown number of people suspected of having links to terrorist organizations. As part of these programs, the Bush administration redefined acts, such as waterboarding, forced nudity, sleep deprivation, temperature extremes, stress positions, and prolonged isolation which had previously been recognized as illegal, to now be deemed “safe, legal and effective enhanced interrogation techniques (EITs)"

This means that even though regulations have been set into place nowadays, they can still do as they please... "They make the "rules"... So what are your thoughts on Human Experimentation?
