6 Months since first case

Today is the 6 month anniversary since the first reported case of the COVID-19 in Australia. Woohoo!

Spain Catalonia Cases Rising Again

A number of new cases have now been reported and the UK is restricting flights from Spain into the UK.

Australia – Current Status of the Growth Factor

It is recommended to have this number under 1 to indicate that it is under control

The growth factor indicates how quickly the number of new cases is going up or down. Above 1 indicates the virus is out of control. Below 1 indicates that the outbreak is under control.

To date, Australia has recorded 13, 759 confirmed cases and 145 deaths.

To the Calculator!

Case mortality rate: 145 / 13,759 = 0.010538557%
Overall Rate: 145 / 25,000,000 = 0.0000058%
Infection Rate: 13,759 / 25,000,000 = 0.00055036%
Hmmmm…………...

5G Tower Locations in Australia

Is there any correlation with the most recent outbreak in Victoria and NSW? I am looking to do some more work on this. Hopefully will have some updates for you all over the coming weeks.

But, here is the link to 5G tower locations obtained from the AMTA (Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association) and confirmed with the Radio Frequency National Site Archive - RFNSA -from tottnews.com here
A story from Triple J's Hack program can be accessed here

The Sydney Morning Herald claims that the 5G used here in Australia is in the 26GHz band, is a step up from current mobile networks in use in Australia, the health fears are unfounded as these frequency bands have been in use safely for radar and satellite applications for the past 50 years.
Last time I checked, there isn’t and airport in every suburb in Australia.

The science is clear according to Arpansa – Australia’s radiation watchdog.

Telstra has advised as part of the roll out, there is 5G in selected areas in 32 major and regional cities across the country.

Even though most of the major mobile phone manufacturers have 5G capable devices available to the market, not all support “mmWave” bands?

The 4G Network will be expanded, whilst the 3G network will be phased out, and is anticipated to be shutdown in 2024. The 850MHz band currently used for 2G and 3G Networks is planned to be used to expand the 5G network. Telstra is partnering with Ericsson to double the range of the 4G LTE Tower Network to 200 kilometres. This will apparently only require software upgrades to be performed on existing hardware installations.
More of that story can be accessed from the Sydney Morning Herald website here.
