Hello, 3rd year med student here and first I want to point out the little confusion over the terms "covid-19" and "corona virus", It's common to see people using both terms interchangeably but they're not the same, they're related since corona virus is the virus who causes the covid 19 the respiratory illness.

And I want to make a comment about your statement, It is true that as the whole pandemic thing started the global population demanded an answer as to why and how did this virus appear, and as society we need to be trained to think skeptically, and not believe everything we read or see in media, even in official channels sometimes they're showing information that can be taken out of context or don't display the full lenght of the issue.

As far as the resources go they keep especulating about the possible origin of the virus, but their focus shifted to how treat it and prevent it due to the actual situation of quarantine.

Many rumors came out, some of the first were that the virus was a biological weapong created by the US to destroy Chine and vice versa, and so on and so forth. At this point I feel like most of these things we need to think about them critically and know that it's most likely for those things to be fake rather than true (not denying completely that can be true) but many internet trolls started using this situation to spread evil rumors and cause more harm than good which makes the situation worse.
