Washington State Covid Report

I had to run an errand today, I noticed a huge line being managed by Military Police I assume the National guard. I realized it was the line for the food back stretching for blocks and blocks.

I felt sick to my stomach and a flash of fear and anger. I think the anger comes from a sincere fear of loss of control and powerlessness.

Many are standing or in cars in line at the foodbank waiting to get their box of food which is being handled and guarded by the National Guard.

Many of those waiting in that line are healthy and willing to work. Statistically they are at very little risk.

Instead they wait for food in a line.

Here are today's numbers. Keep in mind we are a state with a population of 7.8 million people.

Many of (not all) of our cases spread in Long term care facilities.

I do acknowledge this is real and serious and that stay at home was helpful.

Now it is time to aggressively find ways to keep the immune compromised safe while also sending the young, healthy and willing back to work!
