The Quiet Is Deafening
It is so quiet at the moment, the only sounds we hear at the moment is the odd bus going past our house.
We have been told that the busses are for workers going to and from work, but up to now they all seem empty.
The only noise made tonight were of us outside our houses at 8 pm clapping, as a sign of respect to all our workers who have put themselves on the front line against the coronavirus.
It was a moving 5 minutes as doors and windows to house opened for the first time in a week, people who we have not seen in this time came out to show the respect to our service people.
As soon as the 5 minutes were up, everybody made their way back into their houses.
It was a glimmer of hope in a time that we all need each other.
One of the hardest things about the lockdown is the boredom, there is nothing to do other than wait for the all-clear, and no one knows when that will be.
My children have been given homework from school to complete, I have cleaned my car, resprayed the wing of my car.
And I have noticed that a lot of people have done the same, we are probably going to be the nation of the cleanest cars by the time we come to the end of this.
I have also turned over my garden soil, turned in some compost and added some vegetables to pots.
My children have all helped me too, with either watering weeding or just tidying things away.
It has been nice for us as a family to be together at a time when so many are ill.
One of the main things that I have kept on top of is calling my mum, my anti and my wife's anti.
Even though we can't visit each other, it is still nice to keep in touch to make sure everyone is alright.
I know there are people out there with nobody and I have made a desition to help.
I have joined a group to help people, this will be when they need me and I will be taking food to people who can't leave their houses due to being a high risk.
For a while, I have felt like there is nothing I could do to help, it turns out that there is something for everybody to do.
I have seen a lot on the news and I know that there are going to be more losses in the world to this horrible virus.
I would hope that we could all come together when this has finished and find world peace.
Maybe it is wishful thinking, maybe I have had a few too many drinks, maybe I am right.
Until next time my friends, stay safe.
I've got a list of DIY things, Garden and guitar lessons I am trying to do. Trying to make the most of the time I suppose...
Car is on the list too, i just need to decide how to get the hoover to it!
