I am learning how to make 2D animations!
Hello everyone, well the title gives it away. I haven't really posted in a while because a lifelong dream of bringing worlds to life, specially in 2D format, is becoming more tangible by the day. Considering that it takes a lot and how much a drawing on top a drawing really needs, I have been gone for long. I care for this community, and I hope I can show you more of this process. Thing is I don't know what's worth sharing, take this for example:
Sampling movement routines, shading a ball, expanding it, making it bounce, we don't see this regularly, because it only matters if you want to learn how to animate drawings. The fact is that if you learn these things you can "give life" to so many others, that I'm having a hard time organizing where I simply want to start.
The most difficult part is to actually being able to repeat the same thing over and over again in such a way that a video may play something for 24 FPS. There are different forms of software out there, but they won't do the drawing, they'll help you organize your drawings, copy them, rearrange them, which is huge.
A lot of software like flash for example helps you make a puppet of a drawing, which is how many 3D animation works, granted a glorified puppet and you need like six people per character to operate them, which takes a studio, and that is not within my grasp yet.
I honestly hope that in a few days I can show you something cool, even if it is just a simple BNW sequence.
Thanks for your time, even for our beloved bots.
