Artist Spotlight: Crooked Lazer

Illustrator & graphic artist Zohar Lazar has been a frequent contributor to the New Yorker, the New York Times Sunday Magazine, Rolling Stone, Esquire, GQ, and numerous other publications. A New York native who was born in Israel, Lazar has one of the most unique yet wide range styles of any artist I’ve seen recently. Some of it could be described as akin to Dr. Seuss blended with Charles Manson or perhaps ‘Sesame Street’ meets ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’. His work has appeared in more magazines than I can list. He has also illustrated various books & had several gallery shows. Lazar’s work spans the artist spectrum & has a certain unexplainable substance to it. A sort of happy melancholia. Unmistakably beautifully creepy.

•• A lot of energy, attention, & research goes into these “Artist Spotlight” posts. The intention is to bring art & artists exposure to people who may never run across their work, hopefully enriching the lives of the both parties. If you know or want an artist featured please contact me. I am always looking for talented individuals to promote. These posts can also be found at: https://beta.cent.co/@erixink
