Small scale Trebuchet build
Prompted by my asthma and the effect the fourth of july has on it, i decided we (my family) needed a more breathing friendly activity. So I came up with the idea of making some trebuchets, to eventually launch some kind of colored water bombs. I don't have that part figured out yet and this year's trebuchets are far too small for that anyway, but it's a start.
I built two of them nearly identical
Designed in blender, basic render using cycles and freestyle
ready to go, i picked up the balls from the toy section in scheels.
With how much fun he had with the little ones, i'm super excited to get some bigger ones made
We had planned on playing a game where we would split into teams and each team would both try and destroy the oppositions fortifications(stacked blocks), and quickly rebuild their own. unfortunately the foam balls i purchased didn't weigh enough, so we mostly just launched it at cups trying to refine our aim.
Over all this was a enjoyable project and activity, the environment we were at on our fourth bbq wasn't quite right for the scale, but as a first go with them i think it went well enough. I plan on building a few more at a small scale to iron out all the bugs. Then maybe towards the end of summer building a big one, not sure on the scale of that yet.
