Hi everyone, today I'm making a granny square chrochet. By now I've learned some terms in crochet and I enjoyed using it so much.

This week, we are learning a new design or will I say a new pattern entirely, but I just discovered that most crochet begin with a chain stitches. So in this case it is good to know that first step for us to make any other crochet.

I so much appreciate this class and I wish it's continues so that we get to learn more skills and build up the skills we've already learnt in crochet 🧶

So I decided to use a voiceover in my video to be of benefit to other users who do not understand Spanish. So while I take part in the homework task enjoy the videos.

First round

This is a picture that shows my final work

I started by making a knot, then make 4 chains and join the last one by pulling out the strand from the first hole back to the loop on the hook to form a ring so that my work can start from here.

Next, I make a chain of 3 stitches then make 2 double crochet stitches. I formed a cluster by making 2 chain stitches then make three double crochet stitches and 2 chains again to form another cluster. I repeated this process till I form 4 clusters and it forms 4 square then I close it with a slip stitch to form a square.

Here is a video that shows what I did watch it carefully.

Second round

In this second round, I already made my square so I started with a chain of three stitches to begin the second round. I will be repeating some of the steps I did in round one to make a double crochet after the chain, but this time there will be some slight difference because I passed the loop behind the chain to make the first 2 chrochet in the second round.

Then continue with making chain stitch and 3 double crochet stitches at the corner, then I proceeded to make 2 chain stitches after the 3 double crochet to form a square angle by the corner, then make another group of three double crochet stitches to close the corner.

I repeated my steps by continuing with the 2 chain stitches then double crochet and ended the round with a slip to form the square well.

Third round

In this round, I repeated the same process in making chains stitches and the same method in forming the first angle of the square.

After forming the corner, I proceeded to make a chain so as to separate each group of double crochets then at the corner.

I make 3 double crochets, added 2 chain stitches and make another three double crochets in that same corner to form a square angle. I did this repeatedly to finish this round then finish with a slip stitch

Finally, I cut the yarm and clean the work by cutting the yarn with scissors. In this yarn I didn't have much lint so I didn't use lighter

Below is a video explaining my work.

So I decided to add green to it so see how beautiful it will be while combining colours last week we will talk how to join colours and I use that method to join the green colour and the combination is really beautiful. I'll be glad to use this design to make something out of it really appreciate this class at least I have learnt something.

I also find out that to make different designs and patterns in crochet, creativity is involved especially when it comes to joining of different colours and different patterns you need to be creative while doing it to bring out that beauty in it and make your work look neat and attractive.

So while running my survey, I discovered from other steemians that they find it challenging to understand the voice over from the video by the crochet teacher because she uses Spanish. So I decided to make a voiceover in my video this week so as to help every other users who understand English to understand how this granny square crochet is made.

So be free to watch my video to understand how to make this crochet It is very easy and you can do it.

I'm still learning so I stand to be corrected

I will invite @ninapenda @alexanderpeace @nancy0 to take part in this contest.

Nice work maam. Crocheting to me is intriguing and I think they are for gifted hands. Haahhha🤣…the first and last time I handled a crochet, it was feeling like Greek on my hands. I gave up even before I started.

Nice seeing how much effort you into this and it came out nice. Grandma must be really proud of you right now😂.

Hahaha 🤣🤣🤣

Thank you so much for your nice comments, I appreciate the encouragement.

Series practice of it helps me to know how to crochet and I can say it is beneficial

Thank you for your response, don't worry atleast you are good at some other things.
I appreciate your best wishes
