Support Omar Bham - BOYCOTT Coindesk.com - Here's Why
Omar Bham aka @Crypt0 is one of the first Bitcoin YouTubers I came across. He has come so far since that time massively increasing both the quality and quantity of his posts and his following constantly increases to match his effort. He's without a doubt my go to guy for Ethereum news much like The Bitcoin Meister and Tone Vays are my go to guys for Bitcoin.

Omar recently attended the coindesk Consensus 2017 Event and while there conducted several interviews and filmed some of the lectures. He then uploaded those videos to his youtube channel, and for this Coindesk contacted youtube and had his channel banned from live streaming for 3 months. Apparently Coindesk does not understand the concept of "decentralization" nor the community which supports it. Here's Omar talking about exactly what went down.
Decide for yourself but I for one will be BOYCOTTING Coindesk until they either issue an official public apology to Omar as well as having the youtube ban removed, or they go out of business for being selfish poopy buttholes. "Bye Felicia"?!? Nah, Now it's "Bye Coindesk!"
I follow Omar and view his videos. He's just a cool guy, who wants all of us to be in the know of what's going on in the cryptoworld. I really don't understand why coindesk did what they did. Anyway, I'm done with coindesk. Honestly, they need to issue an official public apology for this embarrassment that they've caused. Upvoted and resteemed post.
I love O because he is extremely knowledgeable. I think other than maybe Craig, all of the other crpyto channels out there consist of guys who truly do not really know what they are talking about. You can just tell in their video content. No disrespect to them or anything, Omar just takes the cake in all facets of delivering crypto news.
Hell yeah. I love Omar's show. Decided last night I would boycott. Following you now as well.
Cheers,
@clayford08
followed you back. thank you
I remember Google when it first came out and would tout 'Do no evil.' Companies always start off preaching about freedom, sharing etc, but eventually become control freaks just like the established corps before them.
I just unfollowed CoinDesk. Can't wait for a decentralized version of YouTube.
Library Credits ( #LBC $LBC ) is working on exactly that. As far as I know they're the closest so far. https://tokenmarket.net/blockchain/claimtree/assets/librarycredits/
I'll check out the link for sure. Thanks and followed. :)
It is the time for the youtube alternative, right now!
DECENTRALIZED VIDEO STREAMING
I agree. I think the bigger issue than somebody at Coindesk behaving badly is that we depend on a platform that can arbitrarily take away people's ability to disseminate information.
Wow what a bizarre thing to happen. Some organizations just wake up drinking the haterade and you can't spill it before they get to it. Great post @aaronmda . Check out my feed and follow if you would like to see how my Ethereum cloud mining experience goes. Cheers!
You got it Brother!
I am going to message him now, is this for real?
Yup, I don't post anything that isn't. :) I'm sure Omar will appreciate your support.
Emailed him. I will wait to see what he says but then we might all have to DO something about this and contact fascist people that do things like this.
Thanks man. Upvoted now.
@joseph @thejohalfiles -- did you see this???
what about it?
I am definitely boycotting Coindesk.com.
@crypt0 was one of the first I watched - and while the length and the very own Omar-style videos made me only watch from time to time, I love his empathy and good spirit as well as his profound knowledge and interpretations of developments.
That said - before going at Coindesk, one must ask and check first, if Coindesk had not specified the handling of live streams in its terms...
Because if they did - as 80ies as it may seem to you/Omar - it then was his mistake, really.
We live in a world of certain regulations and laws depending on our country. But in the so called "Western world", I think we can be happy with most of those laws and regulations.
Our law makers have a hard time keeping up with "the digital experience", but I hope, they will catch up now, after 20 years.
Anyway - I really love Omar for his kindness, openness and well articulated thoughts (back in 2016 most of the times while driving), but we need to be fair and if Coindesk had a policy/ToS forbidding streams on their event - well - lets call it a lesson learned!
What I will boycott Coindesk for is that they did not contact Omar and sorted it out with him....but going to YouTube immediately if I understand correctly.
Thanks for your reply please try not to take mine personally, I have nothing against you. That being said FUCK CoinDesk Fuck their rules and Fuck their attempts to own information and drown out the little guy!! Typical corporate bullying and one of my number one social complaints. I DO NOT CARE what it says in their crappy terms. They are in direct violation of Decentralization Core Values so they can take their terms and shove them where the sun don't shine :) Omar DOES NOT deserve to be treated in this fashion and I find it despicable that anyone would have the balls to try. But much love to you brother, you're cool.
Sorry - I somehow missed your reply, was deep in creating my future ;-)
Anyway - wow. I like your mix of rant & love !
No worries, sounds like you're in a good place. I'll be sure to keep an eye on your blog. Have a wonderful day!
