Is the blockchain necessary for real estate?

Over 35000 ETH to the real estate investment industry?

I notice there are now some real estate tokens available which people are buying over Ethereum. I'm in no position to say whether or not these are scams but what is the benefit of owning real estate over a blockchain? If the same real estate can be owned via REITs (real estate investment trusts) and other legal mechanisms and if those same legal mechanisms have to be done in addition to the blockchain anyway then what is the benefit of the blockchain in the instance of real estate?

That being said real estate is interesting and being able to own it is good for diversification. REITs are liquid so that one benefit of them but if a REIT was also captured into a Ethereum token would this be something people would benefit from?

This post and other posts made by me are not investment advice.

Yet another step to normalizing the blockchain. Love it. Thanks for the post Dana.

I think, as we move forward with blockchain tech, it will be looked upon as quite "Old school" to purchase real estate any other way. The blockchain is immutable. I reckon its much the same as when people started exchanging property by using pieces of paper and ink signatures.

That looks really interesting, ease of entry sounds really interesting and the reduction in fees are also a huge advantage. Glad you posted, I would be interested in researching Atlant.

I'm looking 👌👌👌👌forward 👌👌👌👌to this event great👍👍👍👍

@dana-edwards is not it a crazy idea ? to invest in Real estate with Blockchain ?

it could be good project if it work

Well the global acceptance of bitcoin and other cryptocurrency might have prompted people's interest in investing in real estate via cryptocurrencies.
I hope to be an investor in this vein some day

The idea of blockchain is removing third parties. Aren't investment trusts a third party in this kind of situation?

Blockchain will ultimately be a very good thing for real estate. Some countries have very good systems for recording property ownership, deeds, legal system, police and such things that make real estate a very good investment. Other countries have serious problems with real estate and ownership. Without very secure proof of ownership, real estate can never be a good investment. Therefore, blockchain can bring great value to real estate in places where a safer, more secure system is required.

dana eth is buggy, wont last long.

Bugs can get fixed. To say it won't last long just because it's buggy? Look at how long Adobe Flash lasted, or Internet Explorer, or Java on the web.
