Many theorists, of various professions, were trying to make a methodological division of history, which would be universal for all time. They did not have too much success, no matter how hard they tried.
If we start from the simplest, division by means of production and ownership of labor, we have got a division into the original community, slavery, feudalism, capitalism with a subgroup of communism. It was an insufficiently precise division, which ignored too many other factors that significantly influenced the whole culture.
The next division was the religious division of history, in time without any religions, polytheism, monotheism. Only this division is inadequate for the understanding of historical periods; actually a darvinistic idea of ​​evolution is completely wrong in trying to understand human history.
Interesting was the theory by which history is divided into a part to commodity production, and a part after, when the codification of the will and possibilities completely fell through the opening of the free market and allowing each individual to come to every good that he could have, with an adequate cash equivalent. There was a huge psychological change in people, the world was rastereced by old stigmas, but heavily burdened with new constraints.
One of the divisions of history was made towards full domination in societies. The Matriarchate and Patriarchate are two general works, but many different combinations have been neglected. It is clear that there is no need for much explanation why this division is insufficient.
