I also save some of my bitcoins in exchanges,though it is risky as what OP said but I do also engaged in altcoins trading. Whenever there is an opportunity, I can buy easily. Also some bitcoin is saved on our local bitcoin exchange wallet for easy transfer and withdrawal locally and for future purpose.
