Day 9 – Creating a Website is like a Box of Kleenex
As soon as one thing gets resolved then another pops up…that is how the last 48 hours have gone. I have been able to find answers to issues and discover weird and wonderful ways to make something work even better than imagine. And in such a short time, I have ‘grown’ as a coder. I never claimed to be an expert, but lately I feel like I am able to tackle so much more than what I ever believed I could.
The issues continue and I am living a fine line between frustration and flow.
Today has been spent on accessibility and privacy. I have also been trying to think of all those problems that users can have and then trying to anticipate solutions and more importantly prevention methods.
Best issue was of course the bathroom flooding this morning. Never a dull moment.
Lesson 9: Never doubt the code.
- decided against child menus for ease of access on mobiles
- created all admin logons and staff special names
- searched ‘bad’ word lists for filtering comments from idiots
- installed a report comment feature
- got stuck with embedded videos for front end user uploads
Every day I am learning so much. It is crazy how much I get done then instantly another issue pops up. It truly feels like a box of Kleenex…but there are no tears.
