When trading crypto it is very important to be aware of the difference between Satoshi and fiat. When trading i personally on trade in satoshis to be sure that every trade yields me more BTC.
I just find it more easier to manage everything with Satoshi as the base unit. Not to mention that most of trading pairs are accessible most freely in BTC pairs.
Although I have to keep in mind and remember my first Satoshi purchase price and the use it for conversion in my spreadsheet.
I think Bitcoin has earned it rep as the most viable crypto reserve. Although the swings are wild but once you start the the buy sell routine it kinds of falls into a rhythm. Just have to be careful to keep the first BTC buy price in mind - made that mistake with my first 1000 euros and although I am still in profit on that spreadsheet but have no clue as to how much.
I admire that decision to stay in BTC ... it probably made a huge difference for you during some of the uptrends since long term we all expect the overall mkt cap to grow anyways.

I have since diversified into other projects I believe in but I still relate back to btc and compare all gains or losses to what I would have achieved if I had just held btc.
I made the serious mistake when trading to take accounts in Fiat, then I realized that if I left everything in satoshi simply doing hold would have more money, now I know that we must make trading looking for more satoshi.

Easier and most effective. When BTC goes on wild swing people think they are winning by being up in Fiat not realize they lost a bunch of BTC

Do you usually hold Tether or USD between trades? Tether has been very convenient so far
I actually rarely tether, unless I feel BTC is going to go for a wild dump. Other then that I always stay in BTC.

It makes life easier, wether is spikes up hard or down, Alts are the ones who suffer and you can win either way.
