Most unpopular opinion you have about BTC or Crypto in general

There's loads of unpopular opinions about BTC and crypto floating around. Some of those are so ridiculous that it's hard to even understand how someone might actually take it seriously. Others will challenge you before you can debunk it. One thing for sure, more popular and mainstream BTC, ETH or any other crypto will become, more bashing theories there will be thrown in the pot.

During last (2017) bull run you could find some of the most idiotic articles about BTC and why its evil. Right off the bat i can recall a story that became widely popular and took long time to be debunked even among crypto crowd. Theory was that Bitcoin mining consumes more energy than most countries in the world (139 to be precise). It was always written in a tone where with each bitcoin mined will kill a whale or how because of mining bitcoin whole Africa will be out of energy and will starve to death. Now we know, and it's proven, that it was mostly American Express (and great "crypto enthusiast" Warren Buffet and Charlie Munger himself) behind this campaign. Sounds like another desperate attempt by another big bank...

Today we know, that the reality is far from the bank reality. As a matter of fact, something over 80% of energy used by mining is actually renewable and mostly energy that would have gone waste otherwise. There are huge BTC mining farms for example in Russia and China that are using electricity from hydro plants that are overproducing and use to waste all of that excess power just because there was no need for that in surrounding areas. Also, to keep in mind, producing money and to keep the money supply alive (banks, massive organisations that are policing you, fraud, corruption etc) will consume probably far more electricity than BTC ever will.
