Smart Phone Apps that use/leverage blockchain technology Part 1: Clash and Go Review:
After a little over a week of actively playing this new crypto based game, here are my thoughts:
- The AR (Augmented Reality) aspect of the game is very addicting. The basic strategy involves traveling around wherever you live and capturing towers that can either improve the efficiency in which your base produces resources or troops, or produces resources such as antimatter (which I believe can be traded in for CGO tokens at an in-game auction that will be available in the future)
- The normal gameplay portion of Clash and Go is very similar to existing “clash” games in the sense of standard base building, resource collection and base design
Overall, this game marries the effective and addictive portion of Pokemon Go with the popular mechanics of typical clash games that many have grown to love
One mechanic that Clash and Go has that I believe makes it more appealing to Pokemon Go is the Clan aspect, allowing players to more easily connect to local players in their area and make real connections. I myself have already joined a clan and hope to meet local players/crypto enthusiasts.
In Game Strategy:
So far, it seems like capturing towers (especially anti-matter towers) is of vital importance to proceeding to late game
In other base attacks, I have been using 8 Giants, 16 Shooters, and 12 Fighters. Please let me know your thoughts, or if you have been more successful with other strategies (I look forward to your thoughts)
Hopefully in the future, if this game grows in popularity, it will increase global awareness of the usefulness of crypto currencies (that is what got me interested in the game in the first place). I think it is beneficial how this game (like Pokemon Go) encourages users to connect to the community and actually go outside and walk around. Overall, I am looking forward to see where this game goes and how popular AR games can become.
