Crypto-powered Browser with 5 Million Downloads
Brave browser has already been downloaded more than five million times from the Google Play mobile app store.
The Ad Blocking browser, co-founded of the Mozilla Firefox creator, Brendan Hutch, reached this significant stage last Thursday, just six months after crossing the download threshold of one million.
This rapid growth has come to the pinnacle of several high-profile partnerships, including one with the Dow Jones Media Group, which provides a limited number of Brave users with access to high-quality content from several company publications.
The app even got a movie in a recent episode of an emblematic news program 60 minutes when Yelp CEO Jeremy Stillanman used the app.
Because the Brave browser blocks ads by default, users can reward publishers for producing quality content with the platform's Basic Attention Token (BAT). YouTube creators and Twitch streamers can also sign up to become publishers, allowing them to earn a much larger percentage of revenue than through conventional ad models.
Brave plans to allow users to join the non-intrusive ad that is in the browser. In return, they will receive part of the revenues paid in BAT and automatically converted to local currency.
