There are so many options in crypto land and this should help making sense of it all.

Bitcoin- The original is still strong. She has proven to be the consistent reserve crypto currency.
Bitcoin cash- There is much for the young alt coin to prove. Tread cautiously.
Litecoin- "the silver to bitcoin's gold"- Charlie Lee. The veteran currency and founder has shown consistent integrity, communication with community, and low fees.
Ethereum- Fruit of brainchild Vitalik Buterin. Eth powers smart contracts and ERC20 tokens.
Dash- One to watch. Team and management are strong. Good communication with the community, innovative ideas, ambitious.
