Your best bet would be to have your own wallet (maybe paper wallet?) that you control, and wait it out when the time comes.

Bitcoin is splitting into two. One will do better than the other. I'd sell it off days before since Bitcoin can handle just 7 transactions per second. If everybody sells at once you'll see a crash in the Bitcoin price.
