Hive learning curve

So I'm figuring out through trial and error some of the features of the Hive ecosystem.

For example, you can put both HIVE and HBD in savings, but only HBD earns that stellar 20% interest. HIVE just sits there I guess?

The way to earn interest (and so much more) on HIVE is to convert it to Hive Power, HP. The APR is just under 3%. And of course the more HP you have the more value your votes carry.

I had thought I'd first put HIVE in savings at 20% and then convert it to HP. But it doesn't work that way.
