CRYPTOCURRENCY = ALTCOIN + BITCOIN 

Bitcoin:

  • Bitcoin is the first decentralized cryptocurrency, was introtuced in 2009.
  • Bitcoins are pioneers, the code and concept of bitcoins was first created.
  • Bitcoin are not variants of any other Cryptocurrency .

Altcoin:

  • Altcoin is the abbreviation of Bitcoin alternative, was introtuced in 2011. The most prominent altcoin is Litecoin.
  • The majority of altcoins are a variant of Bitcoin, built using Bitcoin's open-sourced, original protocal with changes to its underlying code.
  • Altcoins are variants of Bitcoins codes example Namecoin, Peercoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin and Auroracoin.
