The New Steem Culture and the Benefits of the Hard Fork 21
Introduction
If you are a crypto enthusiast and you love social networks, Steemit is one of the first places that could come to your mind. The first mover who incorporates a cryptocurrency with a social network.
The steem ecosystem is not performing well recently, and his position on CoinMarketCap has decreased drastically. Many crypto investors believe steem is dead and is sliding directly in the abyss.
But on the contrary, the development is moving forward and real value is being built. We need to have patience and the best might come.

Hard fork 21 will introduce the new steem and a new way to interact with the blockchain. Many things will change and bring sustainable development and support for the growth of this ecosystem.
The more important feature I believe is the SPS (Steem Proposal System) where you can propose an improvement. People will have the possibility to vote your proposal to release the funds.
The treasury will come from the inflation of steem and 10% will be going to the SPS.
The user experience will change
It will become harder to make money on the platform because the author's reward will pass from 75% to 50%. I believe many folks will stop to publish and leave for better opportunities.
What it will enhance is to force people to curate and to hold more steem power. This will have the benefice to creating more engagement and make money discovering the good posts out there.
We need to see that in action before making a decision to stay or leave. It is hard to predict the outcome and we can only speculate at this point!
Investors perspectives
Steemit needed to improve and change the path of the steem blockchain. Too much greedy people are abusing and putting garbage on this blockchain simply because they are anonymous.
Many folks milk the system with voting each other and don't curate at all. Even the people who are very bullish write the same crap over and over and don't even upvote their comments.
When you act greedy, investors do not have a reason to hold steem. The price of steem reflects the behaviors of bad actors!
Don't listen to the influencers on steem
Most of the influencers just think about their own agenda, to make more money and do not really care about people. It is always important that you do your own research and comes with your own conclusion.
I stopped following all of them because I don't like the way they act!
There is hope
I believe the effects of hard fork 21 will force people to curate and increase their engagement. It is something I do all day to maximize my voting power and not waste some money.
I will receive more for something I am doing already, an extra 25% is good for me.
The SPS will provide money to help people to increase marketing, develop DAPPS, and improve steem.
Conclusion
Sometimes we need to make a drastic change to force a culture change. In that case, the hard fork 21 will provide an incentive to purchase and hodl steem.
Engagement and curation might increase, and we will see those effects in the coming weeks or months.
At least we know the steem blockchain from an investor perspective has good days ahead. I hope the price will reflect the change and make this blockchain a good place for the mainstream.

This 50/50 change seeks to increase the use of SP by all steemians. Having SP and not using it is a waste, it also does not encourage circulation within the Rewards Pool.
People must think that to gain more SP return then they must vote and cure. In consequence we must increase our SP.
It is a cycle. A feedback

I try lately to curate mostly on the SteemLeo tribe and provide quality contents instead to spam too much crap.
The good effect of hard fork 21, people will have an incentive to buy more steem to curate.
I have my fingers crossed that engagement will improve across the community and that it can attract new users as well!
